Job Description:

Lead Field Service Technician

Core Technologies, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Lead Field Service Technician. The process is fully trainable. Extensive computer knowledge and ability to be a support and lead team members is needed.  The desired candidates will be a leader and a technical supporter in a team that will perform PC Refresh projects according to a clearly defined process and set of checklists that focus on completing every refresh consistently while providing the End User a positive experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete multiple personal computer refreshes on a daily basis with strong attention to detail
  • Provide exceptional customer service while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide technical support for clients
  • Provide support to fellow team members
  • Provide leadership skills to the regions team
  • Provide support to Richmond office staff
  • Document actions and solutions performed with client
  • Check packing slip and other delivery data against initial order and received asset tracking worksheet to verify received goods are correct and complete
  • Stage equipment for return at respective user locations throughout target site per plan
  • Backup all local user profile(s) data and local settings
  • Assign assets to individuals and record location data for users in the initial phase of the process, track Asset Tag, Model Number, Serial Number and assigned User throughout entire process
  • De-install legacy equipment and aggregate into predefined staging areas for collection by Asset Disposal team
  • Install new equipment and verify connectivity and functionality. Check asset tag, serial number, user name and location data matches plan
  • Restore backed up data and user profile(s) to new device
  • Validate user experience post migration with onsite support for transition, localization, and basic support
  • Support disposal of assets; remove assets from service and stage for shipment to or pickup by disposal vendor
  • Verify received devices have correct image and application/setting overlays for each End User
    • Includes base image and all required supporting software overlays
    • Required patches/updates
    • Domain registration/Active Directory configuration and GPO deployment where applicable

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and Commonwealth Agency-specific clearance (requirements vary)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Willingness to Travel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Customer service oriented
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; ability to work with minimal direction
  • Experience supporting desktop/laptop systems; deploying and disposal of devices
  • Familiarity with installing, troubleshooting, and supporting the following:
  • Windows 7/10 operating systems
  • HP, Dell, Microsoft, Apple laptop/desktop hardware systems
  • Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
