MUST HAVE:

 

5 -10 years of experience as a Structural Engineer in a manufacturing and/or heavy commercial industry

 

Professional Engineering License in WV or ability to obtain ASAP

 

Duties:

 

Prepare/review complex engineering calculations

Review/mark-up complex drawings

Prepare/review technical reports

Prepare/review technical specifications

Understand the constructability of design drawings

Perform plan-in-hand checks of project documents

Perform other items as directed by project managers and senior management

Good written and verbal communication as it relates to the field and projects

Responsibilities:

 

Ensure project documents are accurately prepared

Ensure work product is checked/approved by a senior engineer or discipline lead

Ensure work product meets project requirements/goals

Ensure work is completed on or before scheduled milestones including coordination and approvals

Ensure work is completed within assigned budgets

Relay apparent training needs to the department head

Understand how to use standard software programs

Attention to detail

Ensure design components meet industry standard

Client interaction

Budget development

Project development

Mentor associate engineers, designers, etc

Qualifications:

 

Requires 5-10 years of commercial and industrial project experience as a Professional Engineer.

 

Experience:

 

10 years of experience as a Structural Engineer in a manufacturing and/or heavy commercial industry; experience preparing complex engineering calculations and designs for “Brown Field” projects; experience performing in-field inspections; good written and verbal communication skills are required; proficiency with applicable Building Codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC); proficient with AutoCAD and Excel. Knowledge of Building Information Modeling utilizing REVIT is preferred but not required.
