Thompson is seeking dedicated, strengths and solution-focused human services professional to be part of a team that will impact the lives of youth and families in our community through the High Fidelity Wraparound Program. High Fidelity Wraparound is an evidence based model for youth and families who are experience high levels of challenges in the following areas: behavioral, emotional, socioeconomic, housing, family conflict, etc. High Fidelity Wraparound uses a strengths-based, team approach to intervene with families and embodies the System of Care philosophy in our approach to families. This is a community based service where we meet the families wherever and whenever it has to happen.
The ideal candidate will have experience in engaging and communicating with youth on a level that provides support to the recovery process and to achieve positive outcomes. This person will educate youth, families, providers, and the community about the Wraparound process and services; role model effective behavior for the youth to show a pattern of having healthy relationships with others; help the youth learn self-advocacy skills to articulate his/her talents and strengths; show positive and healthy responses to stress and conflict, and demonstrate positive social skills indicative of a role model. The Youth Partner must be committed to forming relationships with the youth or young adults they work with and capable of being patient, culturally aware, and respectful. This person must be willing to complete NC Your Move Leadership Series and the National Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Support curriculum as well as Vroon VDB Coaching and Training credentialing in the first year of employment.
Education Requirement: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED and four years of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth or an Associate’s Degree in a human service or related field (or actively pursuing) and one year of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth. Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field preferred. Life experience as a beneficiary of mental health or substance abuse services can be in lieu of work experience. Experience with direct provision of clinical therapy to children and families ideal. Experience with social service system preferred. Must be able to work flexible schedule to meet the needs of the team.
A valid NC driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and clean driving record are required. All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required. No calls please.
