Warehouse Forklift Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for accurately storing product delivered to the distribution center in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Examine contents and compare with records to verify accuracy
• Deliver or route materials to stock the warehouse shelves, using work devices, such as Reach Truck forklift and laptop computer.
• Assist with the receiving and unloading of goods to the receiving dock or proper staging area
• Operate reach truck forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment in a professional and safe manner
• Assist in keeping warehouses clean and organized on a daily basis
• Observe and abide by all company policies and safety regulations
• Records and checks quantity and quality of good received
• Assists in other departments as needed
• Wears personal protective Equipment as necessary for the job
• Other duties as assigned based on business needs or management’s request

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)

Education - High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Ability - Follows instructions and responds to management direction. Must be able to safetly operate a Reach Truck.

Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Must be able to recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers.

Walking, Reaching and Handling - Must be able to stand and walk 60% of the time, lift up to 40 pounds normal, up to 70 pounds less than 10% of the time.

Work Environment - This position operates in a warehouse environment, using standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, and forklift equipment.
