Job Description Summary
POSITION PURPOSE: Receives, loads, unloads and moves materials within the plant in support of production requirements and business needs.
GOAL: To enable and maintain maximum efficiency and quality levels in satisfaction of customer requirements and deliver expectations.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: This position works closely with Production Management, Engineering, Human Resources, Purchasing, Quality, Machine Shop, R&D, Engineering, and the Warehouse Departments.
Job Description
Distributes material to various production units in a timely and accurate manner to insure adherence to production schedules.
Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers requiring movement to designated location.
Opens containers, loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
Reviews shop packet work sheets, picks required parts and reviews for accuracy.
Delivers parts to the work cells hourly.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
Ensures inventory levels and location accuracy of all parts and reports to Production Leader/Purchasing for reorder points.
Verifies availability and expedites missing parts and retrieves material in a timely manner to maintain production schedules.
Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Follows all 5S practices and supports lean activities, as well as safety regulations policies and procedures.
Performs all work in accordance with acceptable quality standards.
Education And Experience
Preferred candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in shipping or other warehouse role with an emphasis on good manufacturing practices
High school diploma/ or equivalency; 2-year technical college education preferred
Computer experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Intranet, and Internet
Experience training and documentation, ability to organize unorganized situations.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with them
Skill in analytical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and problem solving to identify and support improvement efforts
Skill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications, following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance, balance working with multiple tasks and be able to deal well with frequent interruptions
Ongoing commitment to improving internal procedures, documentation, and training in coordination with the stakeholders
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION: Walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs., ability to operate motorized vehicle, use of computer and must be able to write, speak, and understand English.
