Job Responsibilities

• Function autonomously to conduct patient histories and physicals for complex critical, chronically ill, and acute patients.
• Order, perform, and analyze diagnostic and therapeutic tests concerning the needs of the patient, and follow up on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being adequately met.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities to ensure the health and comfort of all patients.
• Implement measures to assist patients in regaining and sustaining physiologic endurance to include serving in the first assisting role.
• Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals and monitoring the effectiveness of all interventions.
• Facilitate the staff and the patient as well as the family decision-making process by providing educational tools for self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.

Locums, Inc. is seeking Surgical Physicians for Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physicians for full-time Adult Primary care services in the Chinle Healthcare Facility in Chinle, AZ.  Assignment will be for a minimum of 1 month with extensions available.  Any valid state or Federal license acceptable.

 About the Opportunity:

- Period of Performance is approx. 4/1/23 to 7/1/23 w/ extensions to 4/1/24 available

- Daily shifts: 7am – 3:30pm, M-F w/ weeknight and weekend on-call time rotated among staff

- Estimated 3 patients/hour

- Provide local populace with surgical needs addressing chronic preventative medicine issues. 

- Located near the Canyon de Chelly National Monument.  Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast with access to spectacular biking, hiking, and fishing. 

Requirements:

- Active and unrestricted state or Federal license

- Board Certified or Eligible in General Surgery

- Active and unrestricted DEA

- Active BLS/CPR, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications mandatory

- Full vaccinations and immunizations

- 3 References

- Able to commit to a month-long assignment
