Title: Technician – Entry Level
Location: New York City, NY
Job description:
You make software practically applicable to the company’s goals and ideals, acting as the middleman between the vision of software design and the reality of daily use by our clients. Our team of programmers debugs and tests new software to guarantee that they produce the results our company needs. Also test your critical thinking and problem-solving skills by fixing programs that don’t work properly.
Responsibilities:
- Paying close attention to the user’s description of their computer problem and asking questions to identify the problem and determine how to solve it
- Training users on how the use of new hardware or software
- Testing and evaluating the organization’s computer network
- Troubleshooting network problems and individual user hardware or software problems
- Setting up or repairing computer hardware and other associated devices such as printers and scanners
- Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers
· Maintain and repair technological equipment (e.g. routers) or peripheral devices
- Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPs etc.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area
- 24 months experience in networking, computer repair and troubleshooting.
- 24 months experience with LAN/WAN networks
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+) will be an advantage
