As the Technical Artist in a small tight-knit development team, you will be responsible for bringing amazing art to life in the game. Everyone on the team has a massive impact on the game, but your twin superpowers of art and technical prowess will combine to directly influence the way the game looks and feels. Creating 2D and 3D support assets
Creating custom shaders
Creating siiick-looking animations and VFX
Mastermind the best pipeline to create and integrate art assets and continue to maintain and improve the pipeline
Be the master of all game assets and figure out the best way to organize and optimize them
Deep understanding of Unity
Expert in modeling and art tools (Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max, Photoshop, etc.)
Experience in a full digital art content creation pipeline (high and low-poly modeling, unwrapping, baking, texturing, animation)
Able to communicate with engineers AND artists effectively
Good artistic skills (proportion, color, composition)
Professional experience in team environment
Interest in Game Design
Ability to Freestyle Rap?!?!

Second Dinner was founded earlier this year, and we’re chillin’ in Orange County, CA. (*Not quite chillin’ because it’s warm and sunny over here!) We’re a small studio (currently 5 folks), and we think staying small means we can move fast and give everyone a feeling of ownership. We only plan to grow by 10-15 people over the next few years.
We think there’s a huge opportunity to make deep, satisfying games that are optimized for mobile, and we’re currently working on a game that we’re really excited about. We have a kernel of a fun idea and we’ve been playtesting an early prototype together. We’re just getting started, so people who join us at this stage will have a massive impact on the game.
Second Dinner is fully funded, so we think we have everything we need to take our first game all the way over the finish line.
