Staff Accountant - Public Accounting

Renewal Talent Solutions has partnered with an Accounting company in Carmi, IL to recruit for a talented Staff Accountant to join their team. This company offers a strong benefits and compensation package.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting or bookkeeping background. The company is open to hiring within a range of experience from recent graduates to experienced bookkeeper/accountant or CPA.
 

This Accounting role may provide general bookkeeping, accounting, financial auditing and/or tax services to clients depending on skillset, experience, and company needs. The company will provide necessary training.
 

Some of your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• General accounting and/or bookkeeping responsibilities
• Note: The company is willing to train the right individuals in functional areas when necessary and if applicable. 
• Protecting assets by planning and completing financial audits; identifying inadequate, inefficient, or ineffective internal controls; and recommending improvements
• Completing audit work papers and memoranda by documenting audit tests and findings
• Communicating audit progress and findings by providing information in status meetings; highlighting unresolved issues; reviewing working papers; and preparing final audit reports.
• Travel locally for assignments (minimal overnight travel required)
• May have tax preparation responsibilities (willing to train)
• Other duties as assigned
