SR. RF ENGINEER

Job Description:
This position as an RF/Test Engineer will be focused on the RF testing of smartphones. The position will require the use of your comprehensive knowledge of LTE, GSM, CDMA and EVDO to contribute to the test design, specifications and calibration of RF test equipment used for testing smartphones. In this role you will be required to work with RF test equipment such as Rohde & Schwarz CMW500, Anritsu or LitePoint RF test systems. The testers will need to be configured according to customer specs and calibrated for various smartphones. You will need to be able to design, develop, test and implement the test capabilities specified by the customer.
Duties:
• Develop RF production test capabilities for smartphones using RF signal generators such as the R&S CMW500.
• Calibrate RF test systems to customer specifications for various smartphone models.
• Create process capability reports and review with management team and share with customer.
• Develop test scripts when needed for new products/technology.
• Develop automated programs to generate KPIs.
• Perform failure analysis and system maintenance.
• Devise test plans, equipment calibration and setup, RF signal measurement and data analysis.
• Generate engineering documents, including test specs, test procedures and project status reports.
Required Skills:
• Must have working experience with RF test systems such as R&S CMW500, Anritsu MT8820C or LitePoint IQcell.
• Knowledge of RF theory and practice, as well as LTE, VoLTE, GSM, CDMA, EVDO technology.
• Strong understanding of smartphone antenna design especially diversity antennas.
• Knowledgeable in production control processes and data interpretation in GR&R, Cpk as well as correlation analysis.
• Clear, discriminatory approach to solving engineering problems
• Programming capabilities with C#, C or Java.
• Experience with Minitab is a plus.
• Understanding of audio, video and RF circuits is a plus
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to interact professionally with the customer in written and verbal communications.
Required Experience:
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications, preferably with a focus on RF Engineering
• Three or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with statistical tools
Even better if you have:
• Knowledge of 5G technology
• Understanding of KPIs and key parameters.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including VB macro creation and worksheet manipulation.
• Five or more years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry with direct experience in RF testing
