Our Omaha, NE manufacturing client is looking to hire a Senior Quality Engineer. The position will be responsible for helping the company to maintain quality related KPI’s, get and maintain quality certifications, maintain and improve the documented QMS and be an active part of continuous improvement activities. The Senior Quality Engineer will ensure incoming product from supply chain sources meet company requirements, and internally produced components/finished goods meet established quality system requirements.

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

• Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty)
• Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues (both internal and external).
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise.
• Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained
• Assure we stop production in the event of the manufacture of unacceptable goods/processes
• Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System and that we maintain our ISO9001 certification
• Provides direction and leadership to implement Zero Defects principles and focus in all business processes and to implement the 14 steps of the Quality Improvement Process (QIP) throughout the organization.
• Write product test procedures in coordination with design engineering team and manufacturing engineering teams
• Assist with training of quality awareness, quality system requirements, and use of quality tools to improve product and process quality
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Promote the use of preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing) and other statistical analyses and quality improvement tools (ex. Why-Why, Pareto, Ishikawa, etc.)
• Manage and coordinate customer PPM (Parts per Million), supplier PPM, supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators
• Lead external quality audits both internally and externally (suppliers)

• Support and lead product and process continuous improvement activitiesLead and/or support a team of quality assurance inspectors, coordinators, and engineers

Responsibilities:

• Experience in maintaining an ISO certified QMS
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Have working experience applying basic quality process improvement tools
• Understand UL, CSA, ETL certification and listing maintenance/inspection processes
• Experience with external engineering standards related to metal fabrication industry
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
