Garland, TX

$90-125K plus bonus

Our Garland, Texas client is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager. This role is responsible for managing large, complex projects that include cross-functional teams and sometimes external stakeholders. You will manage and collaborate on all stages of the project, schedule and facilitate meetings, provide status reports, and take on some of the action items when required to move the project to a successful completion. This role will also be providing guidance, support and encouragement to individual project managers as required within the Business Analyst Team. Working in a lead role or as part of a team, implement and continually improve business systems. The role works on a routine basis with cross functional departments to analyze identified deficiencies or desired changes and help identify options to improve with related benefits, costs, and risks. Collaborate with applications manager, and teams to ensure projects move forward and maintain standards that align with company culture and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the completion of a project by coordinating the activities of the project team while successfully promoting teamwork.
  • Lead projects from planning through implementation by creating and using standards, templates, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage deadlines, assist in resolving workflow issues and push the team to ensure timeliness. Includes ensuring accountability for agreed-upon deliverables.
  • Understand and consider both the business and the IT needs to ensure quality digital products and processes meet or exceed company top priorities.
  • Communicate with managers, project teams, provide status reports, and track BA projects through the phases.
  • Obtain and refine system knowledge to become valued subject matter expert for assigned team.
  • Perform analysis to identify business benefits desired, options to achieve, and related benefits/risks/costs/ trade-offs to make solid business decisions.
  • Evaluate reported system and project requests and manages the flow and prioritization of related work based on impact, and customer need.
  • Use a variety of methods to gather and organize requirements, using solid judgment to select best methods depending on specific project needs.
  • Configure complex business applications to meet requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and activities.
  • Attend/facilitate meetings and project work.
  • Other related duties/activities as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or other related area; or years of project management experience may be substituted for the educational requirement with a PMP certification
  • 3 or more years of Project Management and/or Business Analyst experience. (Some experience could be substituted for formal training/certification. )
  • Experience successfully managing digital-based projects from initiation to closure is preferred.
  • High level understanding of standard business processes and functions that support ongoing operations as well as new functionality
  • Knowledge and experience with complex business application structures and functions.
  • Solid facilitation skill with robust 'toolkit' of techniques
  • Resource needs identification, selection, assignment, and management
  • Risk and issue identification and management
  • Scope identification and management
  • Confident in decision-making
  • High level of responsibility and accountability
  • Strong customer focus
  • Communicate effectively with all levels and types of stakeholders and project team members including Executive Management, technical project staff and business staff. Able to tailor communications appropriately to the intended audience
  • Able to maintain appropriate discretion, tact and confidentiality when dealing with potentially sensitive information.
  • Creates project team environments that allow empowerment to maximize productivity and effective team collaboration
  • Assess a situation and identify best facilitation method to use including minimum appropriate participation, method of eliciting input/feedback and managing through to a decision or agreement
