Restaurant General Manager

SUMMARY DUTIES

The General Manager is responsible for the daily operations of their assigned store. This includes various duties such as operation excellence, Guest satisfaction, Team Member relations, financials, etc. The role of the General Manager is crucial to the success of the store’s profitability and growth. The following is a guideline/job description that will guarantee the success of the General Manager. The General Manager is consistently focused on teamwork, willing to go above and beyond to get the job done.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES

• Complete initial company General Manager training through our Mangia University program
• Recruit/onboard to meet staffing needs. Train, cross-train and maintain “best in class” Team
• Motivate Team Members achieving maximum efficiency/effectiveness for Guest quality service
• Responsible for scheduling and assigning duties on a regular basis to all Team Members
• Evaluate performance of all Team Members, and conduct timely performance appraisals

• Coach and hold accountable employees who are not meeting company policies and/or standards
• Responsible for records/property in the store and maintain supply of safety tools & equipment
• Maintain accurate and complete business records on a timely basis and review payroll registers
• Uphold all Federal/State laws/regulations and company standards/procedures
• Ensure that all quality and health/safety requirements are met and in compliance with Federal, State, & Local standards and Company, OSHA and Health Department standards
• Comply with VRG Youth Worker Employment Policies
• 100% completion of VRG iLEARN Training at all times and as new chapters are added
• VRG iLEARN Location Certification 100%, follow-up and role model the importance each day
• Ensure all new Team Members follow the iLEARN training Roadmap
• Be a role model for the VRG iCARE Ambassador and deliver/know company safety goal
• Create and maintain a “Safety First” environment and execute Safety Captain Program flawlessly
• Oversee all culinary functions and operations
• Supervise all employees in every phase of production and Guest Service
• Responsible for food, labor and other restaurant costs on a day-to-day basis
• Participate in the preparation of operating budget. Keep operating costs within the budget while maintaining quality and service/company standards
• Create, implement, maintain strategy designed to grow sales and improve business
• Utilize marketing promotions, outside sales, partnering with mall management and developing relationships with mall vendors in an effort to increase sales and brand awareness.
• Responsible for the receipt, safekeeping, daily deposit, disbursement and accountability of all restaurant funds
• Arrange for all necessary repairs and maintenance so the store and equipment is in an excellent operating condition. This includes store cleanliness. Communicate with the District Manager as per spending limit.

• Develop and maintain correct stock levels, weekly inventories, inspecting deliveries for accuracy
• Maintain, understand daily and monthly Excel P&L files

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a High School Diploma/GED – Preferably Associate and/or Bachelor’s Degree

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Minimum 3 years Restaurant Experience with 2 years in Managerial Position

• Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required

• Strong leadership skills: performance management, conflict resolution, coaching, prioritization

• Intermediate to expert level MS Office skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)
• Previous experience in internet-based learning solutions and learning management systems
• Accept constructive criticism - don’t take it personally
• Maintain constant, consistent, professional/respectful communication between Team and Guests
• Set high expectations for yourself and Team. Do not compromise your standards and beliefs
• Have incredible energy and enthusiasm when you work being a good leader and role model

• Be relentless in your pursuit of excellence and the solution to a problem and not the cause
• Be patient and have a positive attitude and wear a smile!!! (it is part of your uniform)
• Keep District Manager informed on day-to-day operations and any major decision making
• Partner with Corporate on promotions, memos, pricing updates, etc. Follow through on all requests.

TRAVEL

• Ability to travel 10% of the time locally for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• This position is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk to or hear. Regular lifting and/or moving up to 10lbs - 50lbs is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. • When traveling, will be able to comfortably move through airports and public transportation stations, transporting luggage, walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time
