Residential Assistant, Weekends

Mercy Multiplied America, a Christian residential home for women, comprised of four U.S. locations, has an immediate opening for a Residential Assistant, Weekend staff at our home located in Lincoln, California near Sacramento.

16 Hours/Week: Saturday and Sunday 7:30 AM - 4 PM

Education: Some college preferred; must have high school diploma or pass a general educational development test (GED).

Skills: Good communication, works well under pressure, ability to multi-task and to set healthy boundaries.

• Prior experience in a residential setting is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise weekend work details (household duties) including meals and clean up, including snack time
• Answer phone calls and take messages
• Coordinate residents’ personal phone calls as needed
• Distribute mail to the residents
• Safely transport the residents to special events on the weekend
• Check residents out for the weekend visits as needed
• Check work details (household duties), including the bathroom details
• Coordinate phone placement/availability for the residents’ incoming calls on Saturday and outgoing calls on Sunday
• Monitor content of movies
• Monitor the residents’ appearance, conduct and conversations
• Resolve any conflict between the residents if they cannot resolve it for themselves
• Assign an alternate for any work duties previously assigned to a resident that is on pass
• Safely transport residents to the hospital and/or pick up prescriptions from the pharmacy as needed
• Check all interior and exterior doors at night and set the alarm after lights out
• Check rooms (pm) after lights out to make sure the residents are in bed
• Check residents’ (am) rooms to ensure they are awake and beds are made before breakfast
• Must be responsible for safe transportation of residents when needed
• Other duties as deemed necessary

Staff serving in this capacity monitor the activities of our residents while also providing support as residents navigate through the program.
