Relay Tech

We are seeking a qualified experienced individual(s) that can perform field services as a Senior Protection and Controls P&C Technician. This position will support our entire field services division

General Requirements:

This position is responsible for maintaining, calibrating and troubleshooting protection and control equipment for power plants, wind farms, industrial locations, commercial facilities, data centers and others.

Responsibilities:

• Perform testing of electromechanical and microprocessor protective relays
• Perform testing of instrument transformers, transducers, meters and associated equipment
• Using schematic diagrams and system knowledge, troubleshoot and repair system protection control equipment and relays
• complete field mark on prints
• Maintenance of all plant protective relaying and associated control circuits including testing, calibration, functional test, troubleshooting and installation of upgrades (generator relaying, Main Power Transformer, Unit Auxiliary Transformer, Start-up Stand-by Transformer relaying, Medium voltage switchgear, relaying and transfer schemes, Plant/switch yard interface relaying etc.)
• Interface with outside vendors/business/customers and partners
• Revise and maintain all associated drawings
• Conduct diagnostic test on generation facilities' electrical equipment ( Generator, CTs, PT's ancillary equipment)
• All other duties as assigned
• Experience with ProTest and RTS is required
• End to end testing experience with synchronized clocks is preferred
• Goose protocol and bit logic experience is preferred
• SEL relays including the following examples: SEL-311L, SEL-387, SEL-487, SEL-421, SEL-351S, GE L90, GE D60 amon others.
• Generator relays
• Motor relays
• Experience with various types of testing equipment: Doble 6150 Omicron and others
• Perform Job Hazard Analysis - JHA
• Accurately document test results and produce field reports on requested format
• Prepare and implement test plans
• Read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
