Neuro Orthopedics Registered Nurse Dallas, TX, United States
Shift/Schedule: Full-Time / Nights / 7p-7a / Rotating Weekends
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSN required within 24 months of hire
- Current TX RN license or valid compact license
- Minimum of one-year experience in acute care hospital within the last three years, required. Ortho experience preferred.
- BLS required, issued by American Heart Association
- Willing to take Med Surg nurses that are willing to train in Neuro Spine
- Must have at least 1 yr in an acute care setting

Job Responsibilities
- You will also perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for the Ortho Service Line.
- Determine the predictable or unpredictable health status and health needs of patients (individual and family) through interpretation of health data and preventive practice in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary health care team members.
- Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient.
Additional information
- Must be able to evaluate Asia scale (knowledge of the dermatones)
- Must have knowledge of mobilizing post op spine patients
- Patient to Staff ratio- 1:2, 3:1 or 4:1 based upon acuity
- # of Beds 4 hi acuity and 20 med surg
- Patient population- Scoliosis corrective surgery, Tarlov cyst and other spine surgeries
- Scope of Service- Admission to discharge care of complex surgical spine patients
