Quality Engineer

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer candidate working at an automobile manufacturing plant in Tennessee. The plant is located between Chattanooga and Nashville and is about 1 hour from each. This position offers a salary of $70K-$80K. This is a permanent position with a full benefits package offered.

 

Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer includes:

8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday) with possible rotating weekend shifts

Ensure all concerns are contained and corrective action is put in place

Facilitate and develop training materials as required

Deal with customer rejects and problems and take steps to rectify concerns

Investigate and conduct research on product defects

Deal with customers and engineering on advanced quality issues and programs

Attend customer meetings and translate requirements into plant systems and procedures

Analyze SPC data and assist in improving manufacturing process capabilities

Review GD&T and KPC’s with customers on new programs to address quality concerns

Coordinate and prepare sample submission packages (PPAP)

Prepare Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)

Review fixture designs to ensure that parts are properly located in accordance with the GR&T

Perform dimension checks, capability studies, Gauge R&R studies and audits

Conduct training on new programs

Assist with the design of experiments and DVP&R when required

Monitor supplier performance and assist with supplier improvement plans

Supervise Corporate Testing Laboratory and all related activities

Plan and perform internal audits

Be a team player with a positive manner

 

Preferred skills of the Quality Engineer are:

Attention to detail

Must have above average verbal and written skills

High level of professionalism and able to communicate with all

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a face paced environment

Ability to manage and solve any issues

Very strong organization, analytical and problem-solving abilities

 

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

Valid US driver’s license

3-5 years’ experience in Quality Environment in manufacturing/automotive industry

Understanding of Quality system, PPAP APQP requirements

Knowledge of GD&T, SC and various testing methods

Certified Quality Engineer CQE body of knowledge

College degree specializing in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Metallurgical Engineering

 

 

Conducting (drug screening and background check) report inquiries will be necessary for employment purposes.
