Quality Assurance Junior Tester

Responsibilities:
The Junior Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for performing rudimentary software quality assurance tests and generating reports. Learn the basics and intermediate concepts of the overall quality of applications, services, and systems throughout the IT development life cycle.

Junior Quality Assurance Analyst Primary Functions:

• Perform Test Execution on Test Cases, tracking progress in Micro Focus (MF) Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) 
• Read and review all Business and Functional Requirements, with a senior Quality Assurance Lead as well as Use Cases for the assigned project(s)
• Run assigned test cases in MF ALM software testing tools
• Attend Review and Design meetings as necessary
• Read and review the Test Strategy document and approach for the assigned project(s), with a senior Quality Assurance Lead
• Log defects and issues in MF ALM
• Attend meetings related to projects
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Junior Quality Assurance Analyst Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related field of study from an accredited college or university  
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with software quality assurance
• Familiarity with the following:
  • Utilizing specialized software to complete work assignments;
  • Generating reports;
  • Related industry, organizational and departmental policies, practices, and procedures; legal guidelines, ordinances, and laws
• Familiarity with all, but not limited to the following:
  • Software Applications (i.e. Software Testing Tools (i.e. ALM)
  • Oracle Utilities Suite: Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) and Meter Data Management (MDM), Web and wire frames, Interactive voice response (IVR), Outage Management System (OMS);
• Familiarity with concepts for Software Quality Assurance (strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with Micro Focus ALM’s Test Lab and Defect Module (preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers to accomplish business objectives
• Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Outlook, Excel, Word) and standard office equipment (computer, telephone, copier, etc.)
