Hourly range is $26.44/hr to $55.28/hr , with a midpoint of $40.87/hr. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Under administrative direction of the Public Safety & Security Field Activity Manager, execute all aspects of the Public Safety and Security Field Activity Controller program to include, but not limited to, community outreach, emergency incident response, day to day inspection of Sound Transit Public Safety and Security operations, ensuring compliance of contracted security and law enforcement resources. Public Safety and Security Field Activity Specialists are a 24-hour a day, 7-day a week field presence continuously supporting the work on developing partnerships to support increased collaboration between Sound Transit and the community. The goal is to leverage community strengths, appropriate Sound Transit resources, and identify alternative strategies to various public safety and security issues impacting Sound Transit and the communities we serve.
This is community engagement through service and outreach that does not require the enforcement authority of a sworn police officer. Specialists do not carry weapons nor enforce criminal laws.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, AND 4 years of work experience in the public sector providing service to the public or customers, preferably in a public facing security or law enforcement field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
