Responsibilities
o Conducts psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, and observations.
o Provides psychiatric health services, education, counseling, and emotional support.
o Analyze data and results of assessments to accurately diagnose patients.
o Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis and best practices.
o Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
o Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and adjust as needed.
o Communicates with patients and engages in follow-up, as necessary.
o Provide crisis intervention as needed.
o Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
o Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to assess and adjust treatment plans.
o Coordinate and communicate with patients, parents/guardians, case managers, and other stakeholders about treatment and care.
o Supervises medical support staff including nurses and medical assistants.

Able to pass all necessary background checks (Idaho DHW, CMS) and drug screening.
Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders criteria
Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Education and Experience:
Master of Science in Nursing, with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis, from an accredited college or university.
Must be licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the State of Idaho.
Licensed or license eligible to practice medicine in Idaho.
Current or eligible for DEA registration
Three (3) years of experience related to the above describe duties preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
