Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator / Project Manager to join our team of professionals. This exempt, full-time position will be crucial in building a robust book of business to help grow our San Diego office. The ideal candidate will be effective both as a rainmaker and estimator and capable of leading preconstruction activities and managing projects when required.
 

Key Duties:

• Build and develop key customer relationships in the San Diego area.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to better satisfy customer requirements.
• Complete high-quality, detailed estimates in line with customer requirements and company protocols.
• Participate in project and contractual negotiations as required.
• Manage multiple or large complex projects by planning, budgeting, organizing, controlling, and problem-solving to achieve or exceed the goals set for the assigned project(s).
• Generate, track, and collect charge orders in a timely manner.
• Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field experience preferred.
• Minimum of seven years’ estimating experience in commercial projects within the wall and ceiling industry.
• Business development experience with exceptional relationship and rapport-building abilities.
• Strong history and business ties in the area preferred.
• Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and On Center Software (On Screen Takeoff and QuickBid). Proficiency in Spectrum, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid preferred. Scheduling software knowledge is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of building code standards, material pricing, and construction costs and methods in the wall and ceiling industry.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Extremely organized, detail-oriented, with excellent time and project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
