Physician Assistant

Summary

We are seeking a Certified Physician Assistant to become a part of our team! You will focus on providing high quality patient care as part of a healthcare team.

Candidates must have at least 2 years experience in either Internal Medicine/Primary Care and/or Gastroenterology/Hepatology. They should possess a good fund of knowledge and must have the ability to work independently and autonomously with or without direct supervision. There is a heavy emphasis on gastrointestinal diseases. In addition, they should be a team player and strive to enhance the practice. It is expected that candidates be well organized and will continue to strengthen his/her knowledge base by reading and attending appropriate meetings. Comfort with an EMR system is a must as we currently utilize Optum/Caretracker. Compliance and assistance with MIPS and HEDIS monitoring required.

Responsibilities include direct patient care for Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology/Hepatology patients, administering video capsule endoscopy, as well as completing infrequent disability forms, prior authorizations (typically for treatment of Hepatitis C), etc.

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
• Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
• Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
• Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care
• Heavy emphasis on Gastroenterology
• Assistance with HEDIS and MIPS compliance

Northeast Gastroenterology Associates is a multi speciality group with a heavy emphasis on Gastroenterology. We currently have 2 MD’s and one certified PA and are growing.  We are located in Salem, New Hampshire and have been in practice over 20 yrs.
