Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with client/patients.

• Greet customers and answer questions as needed

• Weighing chemicals using an analytical balance

Understand basic mathematical calculations

• Ability to follow precise formulation recipes

• Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening/closing

• Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions

• Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory

• Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate

• Resolve issues when they arise

• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned

• Comply with all security measures and quality standards

Skills

• Proven experience as pharmacy technician
• Experience with compounding veterinary and HRT is a plus
• Basic knowledge of medication and dosage measurement
• Basic knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Reliable with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft, Internet, and email skills
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints
• Certified Pharmacy technician is an asset
