Job Title: Pest Control Specialist
Reports to: Crop Manager

Job Summary:
The Pest Control Specialist is responsible for monitoring, preventing, and controlling pest infestations on the farm. This position requires expertise in identifying pests and diseases, and knowledge of safe and effective pest control methods.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor and identify pest infestations, including insects, rodents, and other wildlife
• Develop and implement integrated pest management plans in collaboration with the Crop Manager
• Apply pesticides and other pest control products safely and effectively, in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Keep detailed records of pest control activities and maintain pesticide application logs
• Monitor weather patterns and assess potential risks to pest infestations
• Collaborate with other farm staff to coordinate pest management practices with planting and harvesting schedules
• Provide training to farm staff on pest management and pesticide safety
• Inspect and maintain pest control equipment, including sprayers, baits, and traps
• Communicate with suppliers and vendors to order pest control products and maintain inventory levels

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in entomology, agriculture, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in pest control or related field
• Knowledge of pest identification, biology, and behavior
• Familiarity with pesticide application techniques and equipment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed

• The Pest Control Specialist must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, stand and walk for extended periods of time, and lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

• The Pest Control Specialist will work primarily outdoors in the field, with occasional indoor work required for data analysis and reporting
• The job may require working in confined spaces and with chemicals, which may require the use of protective equipment
