Packaging Technician

Staff Perm has collaborated with Daisy Brand to provide motivated food manufacturing contractors. Daisy Brand is a privately owned, leading manufacturer of premium sour cream and cottage cheese products nationwide. As a contractor you will be employed by Staff Perm and working at Daisy Brand.

This role is to work on (Friday's Only) on first shift 7:00am till 5:00pm.

POSITION: Packaging Technician
JOB LOCATION: Garland, TX
POSITION TYPE: Contract Hourly
POSITION SHIFT: Fridays 7:00am - 5:00pm (1 day a week only, each Friday to assist with a project)
DURATION: 3 months starting October and ending in December
PRE-EMPLOYMENT: Drug and Background Check.

PACKAGING TECHNICIAN
The Daisy Brand Packaging Technician position has the primary responsibility of product staging, machine set up, operating, cleaning, and sanitizing the filling machine. The duties will include coordinating with the Processing team to make ready cultured product for packaging, machine operation, and packing cases while moving finished goods to the Replenishment team. Job requires frequent bending, lifting, and twisting. The Packaging Technician is required to package Daisy Brand products per packaging requirements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Set filling equipment up to allow for product introduction i.e., clean in place, sterilize, and product fill
• Material handling of packaging materials; cups, foil, shippers, etc.
• Entering material movement into inventory systems as appropriate
• Staging product and packaging supplies to meet daily production schedule
• Performing food safety and quality assurance protocols as designated by Daisy Brand procedures

• Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or G.E.D
• Strong mechanical aptitude; maintenance-related background preferred
• Attention to detail regarding machine operation, and outgoing package quality
• Familiarity with dairy and food plant operations
• Familiarity with cultured dairy products, procedures, and equipment
• Computer literate
