Mortgage Closer

Local San Antonio Bank seeks an experienced mortgage closer who understands FHA and HUD loans real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will also have an eye for the details and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities: 

• Review loan files for compliance issues prior to closing including flood, title, RESPA.
• Review and clear collateral exceptions.
• Order loan documents through attorneys or loan administration.
• Interact with title companies to ensure HUD-1 correct and compliant.
• Close, fund, and book loans to various lenders.  
• Prepare document order for attorney prepared documents or loan worksheet for JB prepared docs.
• Review title commitment to identify and resolve any issues that need to be addressed prior to closing.
• Review loan documents prior to closing for accuracy and completeness.
• Evaluate loans to be sold to Freddie Mac on Freddie Mac's proprietary system. 
• Work with title company and/or attorneys to resolve any legal issues pertaining to a  loan
• Research collateral-related issues.
• Work with the title company to correctly complete HUD statement. 
• Clear all pre-closing conditions required by the underwriter. 
• Verify tax statements, insurance coverage, APR, and pricing information for accuracy. 
• Close loans in the office when necessary. 
• Fund and book loans.  
• Assist closer with other duties as needed and perform other duties as assigned.  
• Ship, guarantee and ensure files for investor delivery as needed. 

Qualifications: 

• Three to five years of mortgage and/or insurance experience. 
• Experience in closing mortgage loans or with real estate transactions. 
• Experience with FHA/VA insuring and shipping is preferred.
• Capacity to work in a high-pressure environment and learn rapidly.  
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), and any Mortgage Software.
