Manufacturing Systems Engineer

a.i. solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations and assessments. The position involves the application of the broad area of quality, safety, and mission assurance for the THAAD Weapon System, specifically for the THQ FMS PM. The individual will understand the importance of providing timely support to all tasks and will be proactive in identifying and solving problems. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.
 

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering, quality and mission assurance support within the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS); specifically within the THAAD Program Office supporting Foreign Military Sales efforts
• Participate in scheduled and ad hoc meetings with site team, program integrated product teams (IPTs) and various program management reviews
• Participate in facility walkthroughs and supplier audits at prime and sub-tier supplier locations
• Review, analyze and trend metrics, as applicable
• Coordinate organizational deliverables
• Conduct vendor assessments of MDA contractors to verify receiving Inspection, ESD, and Manufacturing processes
• Evaluate contracts for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Assurance Provisions (MAP) and Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMAP) requirements
• Assist with implementation and support of collaborative Supplier Quality Management methodologies, including development and updating of key program plans, policies, best practices, and strategies for effective supply chain management
• Review Government requirements documents and supplier hardware technical requirements for assurance compliance and assist with addressing issues.
• Support engineering reviews, technical interchange meetings, monitor configuration management, monitor testing and qualification activities, support Failure Review Boards, support change control boards, and monitor software control.
• Interface with local DCMA, MDA program engineering, MDA quality technical experts, and supplier engineering, manufacturing, quality and senior management.
• Travel periodically, approximately once per month for 2-4 days and will require overseas travel to United Arab Emirates and/or Kingdom of Saudi Arabia several times per year
• Travel locally from the Huntsville a.i. solutions office, with frequent travel to the MDA on Redstone Arsenal

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) certified institution
• 10 years experience in the implementation of engineering principles to support and promote quality, mission assurance and manufacturing 
• Experience leading and executing extensive quality, mission assurance and manufacturing engineering efforts for complex weapon systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for operational programs
• Experience with review boards and failure investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions
• Experience conducting risk assessments and validating the adequacy and effective of corrective actions
• The ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance prior to start
