Our Aircraft Group in East Aurora, NY is hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer (Grinding).

The Manufacturing Engineer will:

• Prepare detailed manufacturing instructions and programming data to produce machined parts and sub‑assemblies to meet engineering drawings and specifications.
• Determine manufacturing procedures and operation sequencing and establish tooling, gauging and machine requirements to fabricate parts and sub‑assemblies for various products.
• Prepare detailed operation sheets and N/C programs, make estimates of setup and run hours for production parts and estimate design and build hours for tooling.
• Assist Group Leader to prepare cost estimates for new proposals.
• May technically guide or train Associate Manufacturing Engineers.
• Broad base of knowledge in external and internal grinding is required.

Job Summary / Essential Responsibilities

This individual will spend time in the production shops solving problems and improving processes associated with the parts he/she is responsible for. These problems may arise for any number of reasons such as tooling, machine tool, gauging, heat treating, and plating. The solution of these problems may require the Manufacturing Engineer's decision alone, or could result in contacting and working with the Group Leader, Product or Design Engineers, Quality Assurance personnel, Metallurgist, Inspectors, Production supervision, Purchasing, Production Scheduling, or vendors. As a result, the Manufacturing Engineer must not only possess the human relations skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of people, but must also have the initiative to contact other groups when a problem solution so requires.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or related degree; with a minimum of 3 year’s experience in machine shop practices; or 5 year’s experience as a Manufacturing Engineer/Programmer (or equivalent training and experience)
• 5 year’s external and internal grinding experience required
• Additional seasoned experience in manufacturing engineering that would be equivalent to what is learned in a degreed program may be considered as an acceptable alternative to the Bachelors of Science Degree requirement.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic team environment
• Team player with strong communication skills – written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within deadline
• Strong sense of responsibility and collaboration
• Ability to travel domestic and/or internationally – approximately 5%.
• Ability to relocate to East Aurora, NY
