Description:
The mainframe DB2 Database Administrator will be part of a team of experienced DB2 DBAs who provide critical support services for DB2 on z/OS including database design, processing requests for database maintenance and migrations, application performance, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, scheduled database maintenance in addition to Production support. Responsibilities:- The DB2 DBA will be a member of the global technology team working on database projects and requested workload. - Provide complete database life cycle support for mission critical databases using various DB2 tools and techniques. - Participate in regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis and predicting future database resource requirements - Understanding of regulatory, legal and compliances issues for SOX and audit functions - Provide proper guidance and standards to application development teams - Interface with senior management Qualifications Required- Minimum 7 Years' experience administering Db2 for z/OS databases in an enterprise environment- Experience with DB2 for z/OS, version 11 or higher - Experience supporting a multi-terabyte environment - Experience supporting high throughput OLTP applications - Experience supporting applications within a DB2 data sharing environment - Knowledge and conceptual understanding of a System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - Logical and physical database design skills - Proficiency in application related performance and tuning, including extensive SQL coding tuning - Extensive Mainframe JCL experience and REXX coding- Detailed experience with DB2 DDL, DB2 utilities, DB2 Security and database maintenance processing - Ability to resolve Production DB2 issues quickly and effectively - Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint for management reporting purposes - Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills - Clear, concise and effective written and verbal communication skills - Exhibit good time management skills, independent thinking and decision making capabilities - Off-hours on-call supportDesired Experience with Computer Associates database tool suite - Experience with IBM Infosphere Data Replication and MQ - Experience working with Java, distributed platforms and applications
