Machinist

JOB SUMMARY:

The job entails providing support and assistance to Railroad Team Leader and Shop Foreman, along with supporting the toolmakers. General machinist skills greater than competency level are a requirement. Some travel may be required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Applicant must be proficient on manual lathes, manual mills and surface grinders
• The right candidate must have manual machining skills and be able to program a Prototrak
• Knowledge of laser marking equipment, CNC equipment, and waterjet or wire EDM machines would be an asset
• Esprit software & AutoCAD desired
• Prior programming experience is a plus
• Must be able to work from blue prints coupled with verbal instruction
• A complete set of personal machinist tools is needed to complete the job

The job entails manufacturing and repairing gages. The chosen interviewee will be detail oriented, able to hold tight tolerances, have a good eye for aesthetics, will be self-motivated and a quick thinker.
