Legal Assistant

StaffBuffalo is actively working with a premier Law Firm in the City of Buffalo to hire a Legal Assistant, for $45,000/year - $55,000/year, depending on experience.  This is a great opportunity to join a high volume and fast-paced Law Firm. 
 

This Legal Assistant will work directly with one of the Partners on Medical Malpractice cases.  The Legal Assistant will exercise good judgement, will be capable of meeting deadlines, able to work at a fast pace, and handle a high volume of work.  The Legal Assistant will be responsible for maintaining schedules, drafting correspondence, and preparing legal documents.  Excellent customer relationship skills are essential for this Legal Assistant as they will be in communication with clients, staff, and court personnel.  The Legal Assistant will triage emails, forward to the appropriate person, and respond to emails and tasks as necessary.  File Maintenance will be an extremely important aspect of the Legal Assistant’s position.  The Legal Assistant must be able to utilize technology as this position requires everything to be done electronically, including e-filing.  If you are looking for a professional atmosphere to continue to grow your Legal career, then this position is perfect for you!
 

Required Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills
• Capable of prioritizing, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines
• Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills

Education:

• Associate’s Degree in Legal Studies or Related Field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical Malpractice experience
