Special Pals is looking for an adaptable Kennel Assistant to join their team in Harris County. This position is available full-time (4 days/week) or part-time. Key Responsibilities: Keeping cages clean and sanitized Walking, feeding, and picking up after the animals Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage etc.) Checking clients in and out Playing with and interacting with dogs of all sizes and breeds both indoors and outdoors Interacting with cats Occasional bathing and nail trims Medicating dogs Requirements: Must be friendly and outgoing as you will be interacting with clients on a daily basis Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and be willing and able to safely restrain or move dogs of all sizes including dogs that are over 100 pounds. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.
