Junior Application Developer

Summary of Position

Provides support to the DISA customer by analyzing, documenting, designing, and developing PKI based programs and systems for use by the DoD and non-DoD partners.  The engineer uses different programming languages, depending on the purpose of the program. Requires professional and communications skills needed to coordinate DISA efforts with both DoD and non-DoD partners.

Essential Job Requirements

• Must know Java or C/ C++ and (Python, or GO, or Trillian);
• Specific product knowledge of any of the following desirable:  JIRA, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Confluence, Fisheye, a unit test tool, an integration test tool, Microsoft Active Directory
• Hands-on engineering experience with a variety of operating systems, web servers, and other applications including: Linux, Apache, Apache Tomcat, Windows, Windows Server
• Strong experience writing test scripts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail
• Technical knowledge of DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Public Key Enablement (PKE) highly desirable including experience configuring PKI-based authentication, signing, and encryption solutions

Required Experience

• Experience in hands on development, web applications, web servers, use of operating systems, and documentation.
• Experience in providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
• Experience in the Cyber/PKI/IA community (preferred).

Required Skills

• Analytical skills - Must be able to evaluate policy and guidance, technology advancements in PKI, and operational requirements to formulate implementation strategies in the DoD.
• Communication and Interpersonal - Strong interpersonal skills in order to collaborate / coordinate DoD PKI positions with DoD and Services PKI subject matter experts and decision makers.

Required Education 

• Master's Degree preferred
• Security +, Oracle Java (e.g. OCPJP, OCAJP, etc.), C++, or similar certificates preferred

Physical Requirements

• This is a standard office environment and requires lifting and moving of standard personal computers, files, and supplies.

Equipment Used

• Personal computers, software, and government phone systems and networks.

Security Clearance

• Position requires a Secret clearance.
