IT Director

Our blog/media outlet is in need of an enthusiastic and committed IT professional to maintain an up-and-coming website. Do you want to maintain a website that could be seen by millions of people? Then, this is the opportunity for you!

As an IT technician, you will help to maintain quality IT support for a growing network of contributors, as well as ensure the website is running at optimal efficiency. Working with our editorial staff, you will maintain the integrity of all pages of the website, ensuring there are no bugs or glitches on any page or link and ensuring every link is attached to the proper page. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and assisting contributors with their emails and handling any login or technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the website, making sure it is running smoothly and fixing any technical issues that arise.
• Monitor email addresses, ensuring they are working properly.
• Handle IT issues from contributors regarding emails or any other tech issues that come about
• Provide insight on ways to improve IT operations.
• Potentially update and alter the website.
• Report on the efficiency of the website and notice, understand, and fix any issues that arise.

Requirements

• Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues quickly and effectively
• Experienced with various operating systems and databases
• Critical thinking skills and an analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills
• Enthusiastic about working collaboratively
• Pleasant demeanor and excellent communication skills
• Patience and calmness when fixing technical issues or explaining technical details to contributors

**This position is primarily volunteer but offers opportunities for small payment in the form of profit sharing, goal stipends, commission, and more**
