Industrial Construction Site Supervisor

Our client, EMSCO, Inc. is the largest service company for the induction melting and heating industries in North America with facilities in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Alabama, and California.

EMSCO Installations, a division of EMSCO Inc. and one of the Inductotherm group of Companies with more than 40 technology-based firms worldwide, is responsible for installing and relocating large melting and heating equipment at customer sites.  Our Construction Site Supervisors work as part of a team to complete the required civil, electrical, and mechanical requirements to bring the system into operation at industrial sites across the country.


Job Summary:

Reporting to the Executive VP, Chief of Engineering you will be the point of reference of both site workers and project managers and be a key person in the successful completion of a project.   

The ideal candidate will have a background in the industrial installation or industrial maintenance field. Your leadership skills and your extensive experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and make safety a priority. This position is paid on an hourly basis and overtime pay will apply. Extensive travel to customer sites is required.

 Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet established deadlines
  • Follow project schedules and monitor attendance of sub-contractors
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Supervise and train workers and sub-contractors
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
  • Resolve problems as they arise.
  • Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree preferred. In lieu of advanced degree, a high school diploma/GED plus 5 years’ directly related experience is acceptable.
  • Certification and/or apprenticeship in a skilled trade, a plus.
  • Direct experience in the role of Site Supervisor in an industrial setting
  • Ability to travel extensively from 3 days up to 6 months with paid home visits available every other weekend.
  • Must have a valid US issued driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Working knowledge of OSHA guidelines
  • Understanding of electrical systems is preferred but not required  
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Aptitude in math
  • Ability to assume responsibility for day-to-day operations in the field
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, team building, and leadership skills
  • Problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills
  • Time management skills
