Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hospice Executive Director to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our hospice agency in Santa Fe, NM. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this individual will ensure efficient use of resources, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient-centered care. This is a key leadership role with full authority to implement policies and manage staff in alignment with the agency’s mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strong leadership and oversight of daily agency operations
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards
• Delegate tasks effectively to supervisory and administrative personnel
• Oversee program planning, supervision, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives
• Develop, implement, and monitor administrative policies and procedures
• Establish staffing plans and hire personnel in collaboration with the VP of Operations
• Manage personnel functions, including performance, scheduling, and policy adherence
• Maintain contracts with external providers and ensure compliance with terms
• Promote a culture of professionalism, respect, and exceptional service
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to a high standard of integrity
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and other required programs
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• RN license and nursing degree strongly preferred
• Minimum Associate’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field
• At least 5 years of relevant healthcare experience, with 3+ years in a hospice or home health leadership role
• Solid understanding of healthcare operations, policies, and reimbursement procedures
• Proven ability to manage and motivate diverse teams
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance—or access to public transit
