Job Description:
The Grant Manager will take a leadership role in the creation, planning and execution of organizational grant management including, but not limited to, the growth of the annual fund through grants acquisition, stewardship and reporting.  Identify , research and solicit funding from grant making organizations, both locally and nationally.  Write requests to grant making organizations through letters of intent, proposals, applications and other means of communication.  Foster relationships with grant making organizations to further their engagement with Ibn Sina Foundation.  
  • SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Officer and Development Manager to develop and execute strategic fundraising efforts.
  • Work with Executive Officer and Board Chair to understand unmet program needs and solicit funding for these areas
  • Perform research on available grants, awards, etc. to fund Ibn Sina’s various programs.
  • Identify and solicit foundation, corporate, government, and other prospects through meetings, phone calls, and conferences.
  • Write eloquent, moving, and succinct letters of intent, proposals, applications, and reports.
  • Assist in the implementation of the grants, ensures compliance requirements are met and establish outcome reporting measures and documentation.
  • Prepare reports to donors on grant outputs and outcomes, including narrative reports, logic models, etc.
  • Interact with programmatic staff on a regular basis to maintain up-to-date knowledge of activities and accomplishments, especially as needed for reports and proposals.
  • Overseeing the calendar of deadlines for planning and submitting letters of intent, proposals, and reports.
  • Perform other duties, within all areas of the department, as assigned by Chief Development Officer.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Non Profit Management, Non Profit Development, Professional Writing or related field. Master Degree preferred.
  • At least two years’ experience in grant writing and development. Proven abilities in developing successful grant proposals (private and corporate).
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Knowledge of fund development databases preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Able to take project from conception to completion.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision, assisting and calling on team members as necessary.
  • Strong strategic skills. Ability to develop a comprehensive and strategic development plan.
  • Comfortable working with and addressing culturally and ethnically diverse staff, volunteers and community groups.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance as required by law.
  • Available to work some weekends and evenings.
  • The Grants Manager will report directly to the Executive Officer.
