Job Summary

 

 

 

The GAC Global Process Owner (GPO) Manager is responsible for global management and oversight of activities within his/her tower, including BPO governance, fulfillment of contractual obligations, process management/improvement, effective communication, and migration of RTR work to the BPO. The GAC GPO Manager will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of BPO activities within the tower, as well as compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and operating level agreements (OLAs), and facilitating the deployment of technology efficiency tools/solutions.

 

 

 

This role will work directly with the GAC Global BPO Controller to drive satisfactory performance within the tower and mutually beneficial outcomes with the BPO.

 

 

 

Manage Close Activities

 

 

 

• Collaborate with other GAC GPO Tower Mangers to ensure execution of BPO activities within assigned tower is timely and effective

 

 

 

• Develop and maintain effective close tracking mechanisms and monitor completion of month-end activities within assigned tower

 

 

 

• Review Overdue Items Report and oversee resolution as necessary and report close progress to BPO Management Controller

 

 

 

• Oversee Month End Account Review for assigned tower, which includes control account checks at entity level and correcting journal entries

 

 

 

• Review GL reports, trend analysis, and Variance Analysis. In the event an accounting error is suspected, oversee follow-up

 

 

 

• Participate in monthly/quarterly pre/post close calls to debrief on finance activity

 

 

 

Provide Trial Balance Oversight

 

 

 

• Enforce balance sheet quality and oversee approval process for BPO outputs within assigned tower, including entries and reconciliations

 

 

 

• Oversee completion and review of month end close package, variance reporting, and tax provisions

 

 

 

• Monitor risk/ issue log and timely action plan execution(Ongoing)

 

 

 

• Oversee the Executive Close Summary by Tower and present to GAC Global BPO Controller

 

 

 

• Participate in internal BPO Mgmt Team pre/post close calls with each tower lead to review finance activity (monthly and quarterly)

 

 

 

• Review variance reports at the global tower level and ensure key items are addressed. Delegate follow up items to GAC Leads and lead tower level variance reporting efforts to Corporate and other finance stakeholders as necessary

 

 

 

• Monitor response to ACR on variance queries and posting to SharePoint (Day 7 Variances)

 

 

 

• Manage aging accounts and review action plans( >60 days and >$100K)

 

 

 

• Review Notification Entry (NE) adjustment documentation before it is sent to ACR Lead

 

 

 

Own Process Excellence

 

 

 

• Oversee implementation of BPO tech enablement solutions e.g. RPA and the realization of benefits

 

 

 

• Oversee BPO disaster recovery planning and contingency plans

 

 

 

• Oversee execution of process improvements and special projects, including BPO Journal Entry dashboard process improvements

 

 

 

• Rationalize and prioritize process improvement opportunities

 

 

 

• Oversee BPO compliance with ACR record retention policy

 

 

 

Manage BPO Transitions

 

 

 

• Oversee initial & additional merger and acquisition transitions of the work to BPO transitions, ensuring adherence to schedule, adequate resources and sufficient training for increased BPO Mgmt Team responsibilities

 

 

 

• Assist in the design of training plans to ensure BPO Management Team is ready to support BPO during transitions and BPO is properly equipped to perform responsibilities in line with UPS policies and procedures

 

 

 

• Provide updates on BPO transition to Global BPO Mgmt Team Controller, Global BPO Transition Controller & Global Migrations Controller

 

 

 

Other Duties

 

 

 

• Effective communication within work group and cross functional teams

 

 

 

• Research and identify process improvement opportunities

 

 

 

• Provide meaningful input on performance reviews of various staff

 

 

 

• Various compliance and regulatory oversight
