About the Company: As one of Pennsylvania’s premier precision forging companies, they are committed to execute total quality assurance in the manufacturing of their customized cast iron rolls and cast and forged steel components. This is a union position and you will receive profit sharing for every hour you work after your first 90 days.
About the Position: Working under minimal supervision in a heavy industrial manufacturing machine shop, this position involves monitoring and recording various processes, including furnaces for temperature and length of cycle, and moving products in and out of quench tanks and/or furnaces via overhead crane.
Essential Job Functions:
• Monitoring furnaces for temperature and length of cycle
• Run overhead bridge crane
• Oversee submerged arc welding for repairs
• Perform chainman duties while working with overhead bridge crane operator
• Perform furnace change-over
• Maintain flame hardening roll journals
• Test and document roll hardness
• Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• US Citizen
• 1-2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
Skills & Competencies:
• Work well with others in a 3 or more-person team environment
• Basic math skills (addition and subtraction) required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail
• Accurately monitor and legibly record operating and test parameters
