Foundry Laborer (Grinder/Shakeout)

Harmony, PA

Pay Rates: $15.85/hour for 1st shift, $16.85/hour for 3rd shift (pay raise after full-time hire)

*ALL EMPLOYEES MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SHIFTS AND WILLING TO WORK ANY POSITION NEEDED*

Grinder Hours: Sunday-Thursday, 8:30pm-5am OR Monday-Friday, 5am-1:30pm

Shakeout Hours: Sunday-Friday, 9pm-7am (Six 10-hour shifts)
 

Shakeout Job Responsibilities:

• Receive mold from forming dept and take casting out of mold (small ones by hand, larger ones by crane/ hoist)
• Take film off the top and bottom of mold
• Tap loose sand out of the mold using a hammer
• After cast comes out of "blast unit", use a saw to remove flash,
• Spin plank 180 degrees putting mold onto #2 belt
• Take casting out of shakeout machine, load casting onto rack, and repeat
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Grinder Job Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal castings
• Inspect or measure finished castings to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges or micrometers
   

Qualifications:

• Willing to work with a team to meet production needs in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to learn and work any position necessary
• Ability to work any shift and mandatory overtime
• Ability to read a process sheet via computer
• Ability to lift 65 pounds
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, background check
• Must have a valid driver's license and be authorized to work in the U.S.
