Forward Deployed Software Engineer (100% Remote)

Our client is seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE), a uniquely impactful engineering role that embeds you directly with customers to solve their most mission-critical challenges. As an FDSE, you will work side-by-side with customer teams, rapidly understand their environment, identify core issues, and architect systems that leverage data, AI, and modern engineering practices to address them. Whether it is optimizing critical infrastructure, enhancing emergency response, improving global supply chains, or building AI-enabled workflows, you will bring technical depth, creativity, and problem-solving expertise to drive meaningful outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers on architecture, design decisions, and implementation strategies.
• Work with massive-scale data and incorporate AI to improve and accelerate critical operations.
• Develop custom software solutions tailored to specific customer needs.
• Engage directly with customer stakeholders, from engineers to executive leadership.
• Drive projects end-to-end, from ideation through deployment, navigating ambiguity to deliver real value.

What We Value

• Strong CS fundamentals and a data-driven approach, using data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and modern front-end or full-stack frameworks to solve hard problems.
• Experience or curiosity about working with large-scale data and AI to tackle meaningful business and operational challenges.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently with both technical and non-technical individuals, and comfort working in a dynamic environment with evolving objectives and rapid iteration with users.

What We Require

• 2 to 4 years of software engineering experience, ideally at an organization known for a high engineering bar.
• Prior client-facing or cross-functional experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong internships or project experience demonstrating ownership and technical depth.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Familiarity with storage systems, cloud technologies, and front-end or full-stack frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
