Title of Position: Firefighter/Paramedic
The Danville Fire Department and Washington Township/ Avon Fire Department are accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter /Paramedic.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must have a current CPAT card at time of written test issued no earlier than July 10, 2019.
All applicants must go through a Recruit Academy.
Must be a high school graduate, as evidenced by a transcript issued by an accredited high school. An achievement test certificate from an accredited high school or State Board of education is acceptable.
Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license.
Washington Township / Avon Fire Department requirement: Must be willing, if hired, to reside not more than 50 miles from the Washington Township, Hendricks County boundaries.
Required Experience:
No experience or qualifications are necessary, but some preference may be given to individuals who already have required certifications.
Application Process:
100-foot ladder climb that is pass/fail.
A written aptitude test.
An oral interview. JOB CODE: OP-AA
Additional Information:
Not all applicants will be invited to an oral interview depending on their written test scores, but will be placed on a list of possible applicants. Individual departments may have specific components that are outside the formal hiring process, including pre-employment requirements.
After the hiring process, departments may select applicants from anywhere on the
list, that meet their specific needs. Your specific ranking on the final list does not guarantee an offer of employment.
Applicants on the hiring list have the option to turn down an offer of employment,
if they desire to work for a specific department.
But once an applicant accepts employment from a department, they are considered
off the list and cannot accept an offer from the other department.

Written Test July 11, 202 0 @ 9:00 a.m.
Oral Interview s July 21, 2020 – July 23, 2020
