Giant Oil, Inc is seeking an experienced and professional Financial Controller to join our growing company. This position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company. This includes producing periodic financial reports, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, and overseeing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
As an important part of the Accounting leadership team, the Controller will have many duties involving Management, Transactional Accounting, Reporting, and Compliance.
Responsibilities include:
· Maintaining and enforcing a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
· Overseeing the operations of the accounting department and working to achieve the department's goals and objectives
· Ensuring that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
· Ensuring that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
· Ensuring that accounts receivable are collected promptly
· Ensuring that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
· Ensuring that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
· Maintaining the chart of accounts
· Maintaining an orderly accounting filing system
· Maintaining a system of controls over accounting transactions
· Issuing timely and complete financial statements
· Recommending benchmarks for measuring the performance of company operations
· Calculating variances from the budget and reporting significant issues to management
· Complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Qualifications and Requirements
The controller candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and progressively responsible experience with a multi-site retail corporation in the C-Store, Fuel, or Food industries. Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant designations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
