Financial Accounting & Tax Associate

NDH LLP, a Chicago-based, boutique tax & accounting firm, is seeking an energetic accountant/tax professional to support our fast-growing business. The candidate must have a strong work ethic, superb accounting skills, budding leadership qualities and excellent communication and client service skills.

The candidate will work with a wide variety  of company clients, from early-stage, fast-growth companies to high net worth families, and will participate in accounting and tax projects.  Candidates will learn to prepare and understand financial statements, analyze key performance metrics and effectively communicate financial results. Additionally, the candidate will prepare business, individual and trust income tax returns, research and analyze complex tax issues, assist with complex merger and acquisition transactions, and respond to routine tax notices. Candidates should be able to multi-task, respond to demanding client needs and thrive in a deadline-driven industry.
 

We are accepting resumes consistent with the following background and ability:
 

• Accounting Degree from an accredited four-year university;
• CPA designation or working to obtain CPA qualification ;
• Prior accounting experience via internship or full-time employment preferred but not required. A strong interest in accounting and taxation is important;
• Proven understanding of transactional accounting and entries and the ability to draft GAAP-based financial reports;
• Proficient in accounting/tax software programs such as Quickbooks, Intacct, Axcess, and/or Lacerte is strongly preferred;
• Success in prior work experience with the ability to self-manage & prioritize assignments and client interface;
• A strong work ethic combined with a positive, collaborative attitude;
• Self-motivated and comfortable excelling in both solo and team driven environments;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
