Field Service Technician

Combi Packaging is searching for a qualified individual to fill our Field Service Technician opening. The Field Service Tech will visit our packaging equipment customers to perform pre-site visits, preventative maintenance, repairs and commissioning, installations, and training of customer personnel in the proper operation of the system controls.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform project preparation and arrange travel to customer sites
• Troubleshoot packaging equipment in house and at customers locations
• Perform electrical and mechanical modifications to equipment in house and at customer locations
• Preform quality checks on equipment
• Back up for the technical support helpline
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

• Ability to travel via plane to customer sites approximately 50% to 60% of the time
• Associate or Technical Degree preferred but not required
• Five+ years field service experience with machinery
• Proficient in reading manuals, mechanical drawings, schematics and pneumatic drawings
• Working experience with PLC programming software such as Allen Bradley and RSlogixs required
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem solving skills
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude as demonstrated in experience with servicing high pressure air compressors or related rotating equipment
• Previous experience on 1 and 3 phase electrical systems and have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wire diagrams
• Computer skills for travel arranging, expense and trip reporting
• Possess basic hand tools used in industrial type repairs
