Prep and install both aerial and underground splice enclosures along with a variety of other closures common to the splicing and termination of fiber optic cables.
Perform bi-directional OTDR testing, along with power meter testing.
Installation and dressing of fiber optic cables.
Ability to read prints and comprehend splice instructions.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Requires significant time doing manual labor tasks and sometimes working in tight spaces.
Ability to climb and work at elevations (e. g. from ladders, scissor lifts).
Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
Ability to perform physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Ability to perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e. g. cold and/or heat, inclement weather).
