Miami Dade College is now accepting applications for Faculty, English.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
• Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
• Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
• Participates in a variety of Departmental, Campus and College-wide programs, activities and committees and develops curricula
• Prepares and submits student information to Department Chairperson
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree in English or Linguistics; or Master’s in Fine Arts in Creative Writing; or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English/Creative Writing or a concentration of writing related courses from the above disciplines. In addition, for ENC2300 and LIT2480, six graduate hours in Oral Communications required.
• All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
• Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction
• Ability to function well in a technological environment and willing to use technological tools in instruction
• Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
• Doctoral Stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
• Start date for this Faculty position is scheduled on or before Fall Semester 2024
