Job Title: Erosion Management Specialist Intern

Job Type: Unpaid Internship

Location: Eidson, TN

Duration: 6 months

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an Erosion Management Specialist Intern to assist with the management of erosion control and mitigation efforts. The Erosion Management Specialist Intern will work alongside our experienced team to implement best practices and strategies for mitigating erosion, protecting water quality, and preserving natural resources.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with erosion control measures, including the installation of sediment control devices and stabilization techniques.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess erosion risk and identify areas in need of erosion control measures.
  • Assist with the development of erosion control plans and cost estimates.
  • Provide technical support to construction crews and contractors to ensure proper implementation of erosion control measures.
  • Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of erosion control measures to ensure their effectiveness over time.
  • Assist with the documentation and reporting of erosion control efforts to regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay current with best practices and new developments in erosion management.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to environmental science, natural resources management, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in erosion management and environmental conservation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with GIS and CAD software is a plus.

This is an unpaid internship, and the Erosion Management Specialist Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in erosion control and mitigation efforts. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to learn and develop new skills in the field of environmental management.
