Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (BPSI), is a professional membership organization, which provides post-Graduate education in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and offers courses and programs for the public. Founded in 1933, BPSI is the largest APsaA and IPA-affiliated institute in the country and supports a community of psychoanalysts, psychoanalytic therapists, interdisciplinary scholars, and others who are curious about the field of psychoanalysis.
Purpose / Role and Primary Responsibilities:
The Education Program Assistant supports a diverse range of educational and public programming in this vibrant and well-established nonprofit organization and offers an opportunity to grow and develop new skills as part of a small dynamic administrative team.
Working under general supervision and as part of a collaborative team, the Education Program Assistant provides clerical and administrative support for BPSI’s educational, membership, facilities, and public program operations, as directed. Functions and tasks are subject to change as needed and include but are not limited to:
General Administrative Support
Hospitality & Building Responsibilities
· Arrange and take responsibility, in collaboration with others, for setting up refreshments and decorations for committees and special events.
Program Management
Continuing Education
Marketing/Communications
Training Outreach
Committee Support
Fundraising and Development Support
Cross-team Assistance
Reporting Relationships

This is a full-time, 40-hour position. Schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 11a-7pm, Thursday 2p-10p and Fridays 10a-6p with flexibility depending on organizational needs. Occasional Saturday hours for special events. A valid driver’s license required and access to a car preferred.
