We have partnered with a large Health Insurance company in the Newtown Square, PA area to provide them with a Director Strategy & Planning (Market Insights & Competitive Intelligence Lead).

Responsibilities of the Director Strategy & Planning (Market Insights & Competitive Intelligence Lead):

  • The Strategy and Planning Department is composed of three functions: (1) Strategy, (2) Enterprise Business Planning, and (3) Market Insights and Competitive Intelligence.
  • This position, Director Strategy, and Planning will lead the Market Insights and Competitive Intelligence function and report to the Vice President of Strategy & Planning.
  • The Director will be engaged with the most senior-level leaders of the organization, including Executive Council members, Corporate Shared Services leaders, and Market Presidents.
  • The Market Insights and Competitive Intelligence team will manage market research and competitive intelligence for the organization, informing business strategy for the Office of the CEO, Business Development, and Market Presidents.
  • We are looking for a Director with advanced Strategy and Competitive Intelligence tradecraft. Someone who has experience monitoring the competition; understanding its goals, strategy, and tactics; anticipating its actions and understanding the expected impact of those actions; and answering the so-what question for our organization and developing counter strategies in collaboration with the Strategy function. We are also looking for a Director who can effectively collaborate with Business Development and Market Presidents and develop the most pertinent market insights and success factors to help win business and outperform the competition.

Requirements of the Director Strategy & Planning (Market Insights & Competitive Intelligence Lead):

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years corporate strategy, competitive intelligence, and/or market research experience either at a management consulting firm or within a corporate development or corporate strategy department.
  • 5-10 years of health care industry experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodologies and advanced tradecraft in competitive intelligence.
  • Customer-oriented approach to working with direct reports, peers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and presentation skills.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, and the ability to engage, challenge, and influence one’s thinking to effect change throughout the organization.
  • Strong analytic and intellectual abilities with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive.
